About Sidonia no Kishi

Nagate Tanikaze has lived underground with the Old Man his entire life, occasionally stealing rice and playing a video game to pass the time. One day, he gets caught stealing rice and encounters other people for the first time. He then learns he's on a spaceship dedicated to preserving the human race against the threat of the alien Gauna in a war that's continued for a thousand years. When it turns out the game he played all those years was actually a space combat training simulation, his unparalleled piloting abilities become critical in the fight against the alien menace.
